Hey, I’m Jordan Ellis

I’m not a certified personal trainer — just someone who’s been genuinely obsessed with training for over eight years, ever since I decided I was done paying for a globo-gym membership I used twice a month. These days, my focus is almost entirely on home fitness — building effective workout spaces, finding equipment that’s worth the money, and designing routines that work even when you don’t have a rack of dumbbells or a squat rack the size of a small apartment.
Why I Started Workout Answers
Honestly? Frustration. When I started building my own home gym a few years back, I spent hours digging through forums, YouTube rabbit holes, and review sites that either regurgitated spec sheets or were clearly pushing whatever paid the most. I couldn’t find someone just talking straight about what actually works in a real home setup — not a commercial gym, not a garage the size of a warehouse, but a regular spare room or basement with a realistic budget.
So I decided to be that person. Workout Answers exists because you deserve clear, honest information from someone who has actually touched the equipment, followed the programs, and lived the home gym life for years — not a fitness credential, just a genuine obsession and a lot of trial and error. No fluff, no hype — just answers.
What You’ll Find Here
This site covers three main areas that I genuinely love talking about:
Home workouts — Routines and guidance for training with minimal equipment, bodyweight only, or whatever you’ve got available. Because results don’t require a fancy gym membership.
Fitness equipment reviews — Honest breakdowns of dumbbells, resistance bands, barbells, benches, cardio equipment, and more. I research thoroughly and, where possible, test things firsthand before I recommend them.
Exercise programming — Structured plans and programming principles that help you make consistent progress, whether you’re brand new to lifting or getting back after a long break.
My Approach to Recommendations
I hold my recommendations to a simple standard: would I tell a close friend to buy this or follow this program? If the answer is no, I won’t publish it. Eight years of hands-on training has taught me that bad advice in fitness doesn’t just waste money — it can set people back or lead to injury, so I stick to what’s actually worked for me and the people I train with, and I’ll always tell you to check with a doctor or a qualified trainer before starting something new if you’re unsure.
When I review equipment, I look at build quality, value for money, who it’s actually suited for, and what the long-term ownership experience looks like. I try to be upfront about tradeoffs rather than just listing the pros and calling it a day.
A Little About Me
Outside of fitness, I’m an avid trail runner and amateur cook — two things that keep me balanced and remind me that taking care of your body is supposed to feel good, not like punishment. I’m based in the Pacific Northwest, which means I spend a lot of time training indoors when the rain rolls in. That’s probably why I’m so passionate about making home workouts genuinely great.
If you ever have a question I haven’t answered yet, reach out. The name of this site is a promise — I’m here to help you find the answers.
